Our fight against the SARS pandemic in 2003
We are now in the second year of Covid-19. Looking back, in 2003 we also had a pandemic called SARs. Back then we were equally worried and though it did not last as long as the current pandemic, there is one event that I still recall vividly. It was the temperature taking exercise we were in charge of at the exams halls. I had to roster technicians to perform the duty, ensure they wore N95 facial masks and were properly gloved. It was a stressful time and we were grateful that our work was acknowledged by the School through an appreciation lunch hosted by the then Dean, Prof Cheong Hee Kiat.
